Experts Say It’s All Fake 🧐

Italian researchers claim there’s a city beneath the pyramids—critics call it fake. But the real story is why we’re so drawn to legends like this.

MAIN STORY

Cutaway view of the Great Pyramid of Khafre revealing deep vertical shafts, hidden chambers, and ancient machinery. The surface shows tourists in daylight, while underground is shadowy and glowing with secrets.

A City Beneath the Pyramids? Maybe.

Is there or isn't there an underground city beneath the royal graveyard near the Great Pyramid of Giza? That is the big question. An Italian scientist used special technology to find deep shafts with spiral staircases and a large limestone platform underground. This platform has two big rooms and even an underground water system about 2,100 feet below the surface.

This discovery has caused big arguments among scientists, not seen since the Kendrick and Drake beef. One group of scientists, whose findings haven't yet been checked by other experts, believes these rooms might be the famous "Hall of Records." In Egyptian stories, the Hall of Records is a hidden chamber under the Great Pyramid. It is said to hold important secrets and ancient knowledge.

The Pushback

Not everyone is convinced by these claims. Dr. Zahi Hawass, Egypt's top pyramid expert, says the Italian scientist is "completely wrong" and doesn't have enough scientific proof. Another expert from the University of Denver, who specializes in radar technology, also isn't sure. He thinks the radar might not be strong enough to see clearly through thousands of feet of thick limestone.

Even with these doubts, the story has become very popular online. It has gone viral, and conspiracy theorists are having a field day talking about it. Some of these underground rooms might actually exist, just not as deep as people think. But we won't know the truth for sure until other scientists review and confirm the findings.

The Deeper Truth

It almost doesn’t matter if there’s really a city under the pyramid — the fact that so many people want it to be true says a lot. Stories like this strike a nerve because they hint at something deeper: the idea that our history is bigger than what we’ve been told. That ancient Black civilizations were more advanced, more powerful, and more connected to sacred knowledge than the textbooks ever admitted.

For generations, Egypt has been a symbol — of legacy, of mystery, of excellence. When we hear whispers of hidden chambers or lost records, it taps into our collective imagination. Maybe it's about truth being buried, not just in the sand but in the culture. Maybe it’s a reminder that the past still holds keys to who we are now.

Because whether or not there’s a city down there, the real discovery is what it stirs in us above ground.
