Musk has gone as far as tweeting to his 200 million followers, offering $100 to registered Pennsylvania voters who sign his pro-Trump petition.

What’s behind Musk’s sudden push to get Trump back into the White House? With a net worth of $247.4 billion and projections that he could become the world’s first trillionaire by 2027, Musk’s motivations seem to be more than just political. Back in July 2022, he suggested Trump should “hang up his hat and sail into the sunset.” Yet by September 2024, Musk was claiming, “We will never get to Mars” if Trump isn’t reelected. The tech mogul stands to benefit enormously from the lower taxes and deregulation that a Trump administration is advocating—policies that could not only help him amass even greater wealth but also accelerate his ambitious plans for space exploration and beyond.
